Great find, Hesham. Any volunteer to try and extract viewable 3-views from that entanglement of lines ?

I can't at the moment see EIGHT alternatives, unless say one set of wings goes with two sets of tails, in which case some of the eight become guesswork?

There is surely some of that. Same fuselage, different wings; different fuselages with the same wing, etc.

The thing to do would be to extract fuselages, wings and tails from that drawing separately, and start matching up.

Greetings All -

Here's the alternatives that Hesham originally posted but scanned direct from the original article - just a bit sharper image.

Also including a couple of nice cutaways for reference.

Enjoy the Day! Mark

One of the AJ Savage-like ones is in the Naval Fighters series edition on the Savage.

Douglas proposal model for the XA3D-1. Not sure if El Segundo had its own model shop, so this may be from Santa Monica.

Very nice - thanks!

The J-40 was quite a long engine as evidenced by the nacelles.

Enjoy the Day! Mark
