Hi!

I'm occassionally found an article in Spanish magazine "Aeroplano" 25/2007
covering Emile Dewoitine activity in this country during WWII and later.
A number of projects and actual aircraft have been described.

List of projects

D.350 transport
D.600 fighter
Monoplane for world distance flight record
D.719 transport
D.720 jet fighter
IP-2 glider
D.700 transport
D.700/I.Ae.27 "Pulqui" jet fighter
AISA AVD-12 liason high-wing monoplane

This issue as well as others could be downloaded for free from:

Many thanks for the info, I didn't know this issue was available yet. I'm always after articles on the AVD-12.

Regards Bailey.

Great find...

Thanks a lot!

Silencer1 you have found an interesting sites !

You're welcome

By the way, "Aeroplano" has been offerd on Spanish Air Force official site, alon with a "Revista Aeronáutica y Astronáutica" magazine. Issues for 2002-2009 are awailable for free here

There were a lot of articles on present Spanish Air Force, it's aircraft and personel. Good illustrations, some historical info. Generous example of self-promotion, I think.

Didn't know we already had that reference on the forum... So many topics!

Anyway, the article is MUST reading for anyone with an interest in Dewoitine.

Here is a series of pictures from the same Aeroplano #25 article (last pic is from #24).

By the way, do you have/know any drawings/pictures of D.730 or D.740 jet-fighter designs (that are mentioned in the Aeroplano No. 25)?

Nothing in the Docavia about Dewoitine as a drawing for the 730 or the 740. Only datas :

-D.730 and 740 : same frame (9.60 m), same median position of the wing in the frame, same wing aera (16 m²), same vertical fin (angle of 40°) and same lightened Nene engine of 2270 kgp.

Otherwise :

-D.730 (right wing) :
.Wingspan : 10 m
.Horizontal fin : "trapezoidal"
.Max weight : 4024 kg
.Empty weight : 1270 kg and 1970 with the engine (=700 kg for the engine)
.Max speed : 910 km/h (0 m), 900 km/h (4 500 m) and 860 km/h (9 000 m)
.Max height : 14 000 m
.Climbing : 3'08" to 4 500 m and 8' to 9 000 m
.Max range : 800 km at 4 500 m and 1058 km at 9 000 m
.Max range with external tanks : 1 550 km at 4 500 m and 2100 km at 9 000 m

-D.740 (swept wing) :
.Swept Wing : Angle of 36°30' at the leading edge
