Curtiss Mystery Five-Wing Hover Airplane Concept of 1927

Hi,


here is a Curtiss mystery aircraft,it was a five wing hover airplane,may be had a VTOL
characteristic,I can't understand the concept of this design ?,does anyone hear about
it before ?.

Although a Curtiss buff for all my adult life, I had somehow never seen this article before, for which I'm extremely grateful to you, hesham.

The concept was so interesting and advanced that NACA worked on it some thirty years later!

and really it's a very odd design,the Curtiss company had many unknown projects.

It looks odd with this "ladder" indeed, but the concept is the same, as that of the
Fairchild M-224-1 Fledgling (http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10121.msg94671.html#msg94671),
or the Ryan 92 VZ-3 Vertiplane (http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,10763.msg20459.html#msg20459),
