Among the films is this one from Convair, touting a Convair 880 (ex- Convair 600) derivative for a swing-tail ( ) jet transport role for the US Air Force ("Military Jetliner"). Here's a link to the film at YouTube:

*I was unable to find a specific topic for the Convair 880/990, so I hope this is the appropriate place to do so in the forum.

This was most certainly a contender of the Boeing 735 and Douglas 1920 projects (see attachments), both of which are already discussed elsewhere on the forum (I have included an attachment of each for comparison).

Did Convair ever propose other variants of its 880 and 990 aircraft for military use, apart from the above?
Things like tanker, electronic warfare, or maritime patrol variants?

Not US military, but in 1962 Convair proposed a variant of the 990 aircraft to NASA to haul outsize cargo components, just like as with the Aero Spacelines (Boeing) Pregnant Guppy and Super Guppy.
Maybe in the near future, SDASM flickr archives will publish some drawings and pictures showing proposed variants of its 880 and 990 aircraft for military use.
