Chinese Xi'an Y-20 Transport Aircraft

Isn't that one PSed?

You'll have to specify which picture in which post you're talking about, but of all of the pictures and videos posted since the beginning of this month, none of them are doctored that I can see.

In fact none ...
I stand corrected, It looked to me like a set of the main gear was left out, but it was just blending in with the shadow of the belly and set farther aft than I had assumed

Once the definitive powerplant becomes available, will all these airframes be re-engined as they go through their first overhauls ?

I also have to wonder if they will really go through with the stretched civil variant that's been proposed. There are a lot of Il-76 airframes that are reaching the end of their service lives that need to be replaced.

Y-20 will likely be seen much more now as China begins to operate outside the mainland.

Is the cargo bay now sealed (see loading ramp)?
Are those new landing gear sponsons?

Yes ... IMO most likely for aerodynamic reasons maybe related to airflow issues for the receiving aircraft?!

Is that an air refuelling point that is where the cargo bay doors used to be Deino? Is that why the cargo bay doors are sealed.

On centreline? Yes.

We had this image a few months back, which seems like it corresponds fairly wellwith the external appearance of it

Does the Yu-20 sacrifice the rear cargo doors then? Must be a lot of dead space inside it.

Greetings from m other neck of the woods here in Osterreich, I am attending Airpower at Zeltweg Air base and the star of the show is the Y-20 so here are my photos From yesterday and today.

cheers

As it seems, this is the 51st Y-20A built ...

Also an interesting news… It has been speculated since some time that one Y-20A prototype has been converted to an engine testbed, replacing the old Il-76SK. It’s first flight was reported to have occurred on 6. January 2023. Now first images appeared indeed supporting this rumour testing the CJ1000A.
