A computer-generated image of a Chinese nuclear-powered submarine (SSN) has recently appeared on both news and social media websites. It illustrates a variant of the Type 093/Shang-class SSN carrying a docking hangar for a special forces swimmer delivery vehicle (SDV).

Rest of article on link.

I couldn't find an unified topic for all Chinese subs so this seemed like the next closest thing.

Anyway, First fairly clear image of a large section of a submarine, in the new manufacture complex at Huludao.

If the building process is anything like US Virginia class, this might signify that we'll see the first sub launched from that facility within a year or two. (Possibly closer to two years since this is the first sub/possibly first of different variant? So it might take a bit more time, before the assembly process becomes more efficient?)

So the submarine would roughly be 110-130 meters long. judging from the diameter, would put it in Yasen or Laika.

If it's single hull construction it would be massive in displacement. taking 120m..it would be about 14476 Metric tonne. About 13000 Meter cubic of volume available for systems assuming 10% Reserve of Buoyancy.

Double hull would be less as there is ballast tanks and stuff outside but still considerable.
