Bring back Sail power

With the damage being wrought to marine life by noisy merchant vessels and the need to reduce CO2 etc has the time come to look again at sailing ships.
With modrern technology it ought to be possible to devise alternatives for civilian use.

I think there is some work being done on kite like sails for additional power.

With the size of ships today, wind power is of marginal effectiveness at best. A better alternative, IMO only, is hydrogen or DME. With my preference being for DME as an easier conversion than hydrogen

It's extremely expensive and certain nations will not let them dock at their ports.
