The German toymaker Schuco produced a nice clockwork toy Boeing 747 in the early 70s..It was about ten inches long and I was treated to a Lufthansa one as a kid.
I was fascinated to see that Schuco made a Braniff version, in its famous orange colour scheme.
I was surprised to then find a green version had been sold on ebay.
It turns out that Braniff did plan to order a second 747 and paint it green. However, the plane was never painted in that scheme.
A nice pair of original 70s toys that tell a story from when air travel was still exciting.
