Before Roswell there was Aurora. This was probably an early airship crash as it indicates in the video. But whatever it was the response of the town speaks well of them.

That’s interesting as in the video they mention that the latest allegation was he wasn’t an army officer but a local blacksmith.

By the way the reason it looks like a airship crash to me, is would a interstellar vehicle of advanced technology that was out of control really be travelling at 12MPH, and blow up when it a hit a small local windmill. I would have though a real UFO would have just ploughed straight through it no problem.
