Hi folks,
Hope this isn't old news. Mentioned before (at http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,703.0/all.html) but not (I think) illustrated herein so far is this 'Submersible Flying Boat' from Joseph Ardo, (U.S. Patent Reference 1421369, patented 4th July 1922).
Also attached below is an image of the Felix Longobardi 'Combination Vehicle' patent (ref. 1286679) from 1918. (Mentioned before at: http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,11934.0/highlight,longobardi.html)

That's a neat find. I wonder about the lift and power to weight ratios...

Wing loading proabably would have been similar to the F-104. How would it have taken-off
from the sea ? I can see no steps, maybe those propellers at the bottom should lift it from
the water ? Another interesting detail rarely seen on submersibles are the internal guns,
firing through hatches.
