The suggestion that the House of Lords should move out of London while Parliament's delapidated buildings are refurbished got me thinking.
The National Exhibition Centre at Birmingham has huge halls that could contain replicas of both chambers of Parliament rented from film companies. There is plenty of space for offices etc while fast road rail and air links are on site.
By moving to the UK's second city Parliament would be closer to people.

No offence UK 75 but is this really the best website for that discussion?
Perfectly valid topic for another place?

I am sorry my sense of humour offends. I naively assumed the Bar was a place for such off the wall chat.

I know this is a stretch but frankly we should make them stay in their constituencies and communicate via secure conference setups. Remove the need for expenses and subsidies while turning the property of the people into a museum to ensure proper maintenance at all times rather than leave the house to rot. Sorry for that.

As an aside, "By moving to the UK's second city Parliament would be closer to people". Could we REALLY do that to them?
