Hi,

the French designer Elisee Alfred Descamps was very famous during
1910s,he worked for Germany Aviatik company, and created many designs, such as a gun-plan or scout aircraft of 1912,followed by a
machine-gun single seat fighter of 1913,and then traveled to Russian
and worked for Antra company and produced many aircraft, then in
1917 he returned to France and established his own company, the
D27 was a single seat fighter intended to compete in 1918 C.1
competition,(supposed his series began with D1 up to D26).

After that came the CAN.2 two seat recce night fighter for 1919 contest, actually built, and followed by D17 two seat fighter for 1925 C.2 program, powered by one 500 hp Hispano engine, but never completed.

The DB.16 & DB.17 was a two seat observation aircraft for 1923 A.2
tender,no more info available about that designer ?.

In the classic publication on Russian aviation history, Shavrov' book, E.A. Dekan (Russian pronunciation of his surname) mentioned as chief designer of "Anatra" factory in Odessa.

But only two times: as designer of mass-produced combat aircraft 'Anade", named by ANAtra and DEkan.
And as designer of "Bi-Kok" - aircraft, that (according suggestion of some persons at factory) has been built as single-seat, however, secretly planned as two seater with great range - in order to allow Dekan and other French employee, Robinet, fly away from Russia in 1916 in case of possible revolution.

I don't now any other good and more complete sources about Dekan in Russia.
"Anatra" company works successfully, building more then 1100 aircraft, mainly of original design.

Thank you Dan_inbox and Silencer,

there was old info on Internet,Descamps designed a light bomber during the early
1920s,remained a project only.

Here is a slightly better image of the DB-16 A2 aircraft in Caudron-licensed, C.170 form.

Hi,

to understand this designer series,he began from D1 to D25,as his
work in France and Russian, and, when he return to France,he began
with Type-1 (D26),maybe a fighter but not sure,the Type-2 (D27)
was a well known fighter,the Type-3 was alternative design to a 1918
C.1 competition,but not built,the CAN.2 design was Type-4, the Type-5
to Type-15 are not known, but certainly a light and heavy bombers were
in it,DB.16 & DB.17 was also called Type-16 & Type-17,after that he
retired from designing aircraft in 1925.
