Well I can see from there the fantastic marketing achievement reached by a squad of hybrid bionic robots marching in formation for the public while dripping blood from their wonderful living muscle cannisters...
Good luck to get funds.

I think this pandemic has shown the importance of moving robots into health care in certain circumstances especially as I really doubt this will be the last pandemic we will see in my lifetime the way they keep brewing up these days.

Healthcare has been one of the major drivers of robotics in Japan. They have an aging population with a resistance to immigration that would otherwise provide carers (exacerbated by COVID). That's a reason why they seem obsessed with 'cute' robots too - they don't want machines giving intimate care that would freak out the patients who may have dementia.

NASA хочет отправить на Марс стаю робособак (naukatehnika.com)

"However, such a familiar structure does not allow you to delve into the caves, overcome the rocks and slopes. Therefore, at the AGU Fall Meeting, engineers under the Mars Dogs concept proposed to study Martian caves and rocks with the help of four-legged dog-like robots.

"Martian dogs" will be modified robot designs from Boston Dynamics. Future soulless Martians have been named Au-Spot."

Samsung has showed off a robotic waiter and butler that can pour you wine and do the washing up.

Bot Handy was briefly on display as part of Samsung's presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The event is being held virtually this year, with lots of gadgets on show but none of the usual crowds.

Among the other bizarre gadgets so far are a $3,000 (£2,220) pet flap that connects to your smartphone and a luxurious bathtub that connects to Amazon Alexa.

Normally, CES attracts tens of thousands of technology fans and executives to the strip and hotels such as Caesars Palace and the Venetian.

This time around, nearly all the developments and launches at the show are being done online.

Boston Dynamics has been passed around a bit - owned by google, then Softbank, now Hyundai. This is a Hyundai-only project, but this time the potential synergy is clearer. Hyundai's long been working on combinations of wheels and legs to cross rough terrain.

Spot has received a massive upgrade in the form of its new robot arm! Boston Dynamics upgrades our Spot with its new arm and Adam puts its gripper to the test to see how well it can grab objects littered around the Tested studio and even open doors! We show how manual operation of the arm works, the dexterity of its movement, and get a sense of its potential as a platform for developers to create dynamic and automated tasks. NOTE: This is not a sponsored video. Boston Dynamics has leased Spot to Adam Savage as part of their early adopter program. While Tested is chronicling some of Adam's experience with the robot, there is no obligation for Tested (or Adam) to publish videos, photos or media of any kind.
