It looks like these designs were the precursor to the L193. Who else was thinking of building jet airliners back then besides, perhaps, Boeing? North American could have built one from the B45, and had something about the size of the C102. Was such an idea ever considered?

They were definitely thinking beyond the propeller engine powered Rainbow before 1950, as the pictures seem to show. If the following link belabors the obvious, I apologize.
