I have a question. I seem to remember toys of what I can only describe as an X-Wing version of the F-16. Four wing-tip missiles...a couple of inches long...with a large foot-long version in the late eighties. Anybody but me remember those?

Not one I’ve come across. Some kind of GI Joe thing? They often took real world types and added an embellishment

Coming together - will hopefully be a kit with another producer at 1/72 & 1/48 as it is a bit big for me to do

Oh, close. Z.122 missiles at 1/72 almost worked but the thin trailing edges didn’t quite print. Reorienting and trying again

Messers @Thorvic and @The Wooksta! are doing sterling work with the first prints of the FD3 (& as a bonus you can see sneaking into shot my early FDM print of the same which is being reworked and refinished by Mr W!)

The two RAE project designs are up for revamp next, then the DH.110

The DH110 was not my best work. The integration of printed parts to the rest of it and reshaping the nacelles was pretty clumsy. Best of luck turning it into a silk purse

I've dealt with worse - a Halfords resin copy of the Resitech TSR2 ended up looking reasonable, and that DH110 doesn't look too bad that a lot of iller and sanding can't fix. Add an RAF disruptive camo into the mix and we're gravy.

I can't imagine that is correct.

The AW.169 was derived somewhat from the AW.166 research aircraft, but I've never heard of a naval version.

I may be miss remembering or thinking of an AW concept with a similar configuration. I read it in a magazine article a couple of decades back that described all the AW jet designs and concepts. That magazine has long been misplaced and to be honest I cant even recall which publication it was.

Their design for M148T (Buccaneer) is *vaguely* similar.

DH117 needs a tweak to the print set up as the tailplane hasn’t quite printed right but seems to be on the right track otherwise

1/72 scale DH117 looking much better now & sending off for a trial build

Avro 698 is pretty much ready to try a trst print & build as well

Some days are diamonds, some days are stones

Four failed prints and a bit of a maintenance job on the printers replacing the non-stick layer on the bottom of the resin vats

Printer is running again and thanks to @CJGibson’s drawings and advice on the dimensions the Avro 698 has emerged from the test print at 1/144

Some minor tweaks to do but for a first go I’m reasonably happy
