"Vive la France": SNCAN (Nord) 1500 « Griffon » artwork by prolific1

Yowzah! Cannot wait to see the finished product....thanks for sharing. :)

Brilliant!!! Can't wait for the "fun stuff"... Please let that include some USAF and RCAF markings...

Well the fun bit involves shading, decals, and of course...texturing. Would there have been USAF and UCAF variants? I was gonna hook it up with some good old French markings of the era as per my Leduc.

Yes, you're right... I'm being carried away by too much imaginary stuff on the What If Forum... So please stick to the plausible stuff! Sorry about that!

....almost. Need some stores for it or something. Any armaments suggestions...or should I just toss the Matra R530 of my Leduc on it?

This is nothing short of brilliant. Wow!

One tiny little thing, though: the roundel looks too bright and pale compared to the tail flag. Otherwise it's perfect!

Entering the home stretch. Still unsure as to what stores should go on the centerline mount; which I haven't yet made.

let me see
if North 1500 Griffon ever had got in production in 1960
so this Air-Air Missile gona the winner: Nord-Aviation 510 aka AA.20

Photoshop. ;D

Thanks for the compliment. When I'm done with this one it will be pretty big just like the Leduc. They are both 6k images. I could easily print them as posters and sell 'em if anybody wanted one. I'm thinking about eventually making enough stuff to put a book together with and maybe self publish.

Re-profiled the canopy a bit. I'll post some areas "punched" in so you can see the detail since the image is too big to post.

I hope some publisher(s) know(s) about your talent and is already making good use of it, otherwise it would be a great waste!

Any idea where I can find that? Also...does it go on the centerline mount?

so back to Matra R530 missile

Thanks for the compliment Stargazer. I too wish I could do this for money but it seems to be a big ask. I may turn this and my Leduc into a three view. I was thinking of simply making a bunch of these in addition to some cutaways made in a similar amount of color detail. The cutaways however, would take infinitely longer. Well maybe...not sure.

I'm open to any suggestions as to what I should do next. I was kind of on a roll with the French theme. I'll finish this one first. I just need a missile and some minor details on the fuselage and I'm done.

The prototype 02 simply carried the inscription "SNCAN 1500 02" on its fin.
(blow-up from Turcat/Témoignent "Gerfaut Et Griffon")

Well I guess what I want to do is put what a production based version would have. I have also deleted the rather large pitot tube from the front of the aircraft as exists on the prototype. I'll probably put a smaller one on at some point.

Well I'm making this pretty big so it should make for a decent poster. ;D

Some close ups.

Beautiful work.

Please share the final version in a good resolution. ;D

Many thanks.

Any clue as to the likely manner in which any ordnance it might carry...might be carried? I put an AS-20 on a centerline hardpoint however I am unsure as to the logic of this. Any ideas welcome.

The ventral position seems unlikely to me given the resulting height of the wheel train when grounded. I'd go for the wings only...
