Hi,

Max Holste MH-60:a five seat version of MH-52 but with two 165 hp engines.

Hi,

the Holste MH-60 was a five seat version of MH-52 but powered by
two 165 hp engines,it remained only a project as I know.

Sounds very interesting, thank you ! Any more information about it ?
I've moved it here, as the MH.52/53 was a very different bird, although the
designation seems to indicate a direct relationship.

And also from Aerophile magazine October of 1947,the Max Holste MH-60 project, was in
an artist drawing.

Very interesting, thank you for pointing us to that project !
I would think, it was planned with a tail wheel landing gear as the MH.53 ?

Here's my attempt, based on the M.H.52/52. The rear fuselage seems to be somewhat longer and
span increased. I'm not quite sure about that thick cockpi framing. And although no tail wheel is
visible, it could be retracted (or just forgotten by the artist ?), so I won't rule out a tail wheel landing
gear, especially as the M.H. 53 was fitted with it, too.

Hi,
The MH.100 was a three-seat trainer for the French military, designed ca. 1947-1948 as an evolution of the MH.53. (Source: Les avions Max Holste by Jacques Delarue.) At the times, the project was officially discarded because the company was too small for series production. The aircraft built for the same program were the Nord 1221 Norélan and MS.733 Alcyon.

This is the MH.60 discussed above, small-res scans from the book by Delarue.

Apparently the answer has been given in the Designations section.

I believe it would be best to keep discussions on designations there, and keep this thread for posting images and info, otherwise it will be complicated to track the information!

Another drawing of the MH.60, same source. The landing gear is omitted, I'm not sure why.

The MH.50, a two-seat tourer with Mathis G.4 R 95-100 hp engine, first study that would become the MH.52.

The MH.52 two-seat aircraft that was actually built, with either Renault 4 Pei (MH.52 R, five built) or DH Gipsy Major (MH.52 G, seven built).
The second example briefly had a Mathis G.7 R radial engine for testing. A version with Lycoming was considered but not built.
The MH.53 was similar with tail wheel undercarriage. A single one was built, with DH Gipsy Major (MH.53 G).

Could a Turbo Broussard compete with Pilatus Turbo Porter and DHC Turbo Beaver?

Good question my dear Riggerrob,

but nothing about it in the issue, and also there is no hint in Les Avions de Max Holste ?.

From Aviation magazine 1952,

the Holste MH-55 Cadet was a two-seat trainer airplane Project,developed from MH-52.

The magazine Espace Air Passion-GPPA (Musée de l'Air Régional d'Angers) has published in its Summer 2022' issue an interesting paper on the Holste S.25/MH-50/MH-52/MH-53 developments.
Note: The MH-52 s/n 11 has recently be donated to the museum.
