Lockheed LGA-144, ' 80 project .Kind of a Super Galaxy with a longitude of 88 meters and able to load 180 tons (source: magazine of scientific popularization "Muy Interesante" May 1986)

Interesting. For what project was this aircraft designed? To give the U.S. Air Force additional heavy-lift to supplement the Lockheed C-5A Galaxy? Anyone have additional details concerning the LGA-144?

It was one of the second half of 1970's studies for very large cargo aircrafts. In part this was spurred by the problems the US encountered in resupplying Israel during the Yom-Kippur War, due to extensive denial of overfly rights by a number of "friendly" countries. a Very large aircraft can both carry a large cargo for brief routes or a sizeable cargo for a LONG route.
