That is absolute great find. Many thanks Flateric!

Never imagined that WiG design airwing was composed with Su-27 fighters

It may be post-Bartini Beriev OKB works, follow-on to Bartini's 2500 t WIG aircraft carrier (see attached photos posted by Boxkite and Hesham previously), but the breed is obvious.

Hello All

This is my first post here - first time caller, long time listener etc.

Just thought I would post a slightly clearer colour version of one of the WIG images posted previously. Apologies if this has already been posted - I couldn't see it anywhere else..

(found on http://www.beriev.com/eng/Pr_rel_e/pr_110e.html)

cheers

Mekon

I always love those interior drawings where everyone has a barcalounger. How come I never get on those flights?

One suspects that while the dream in the fUSSR may have been:

The reality was more likely to have been:

Chuffin' eck!, seven hours plus transatlantic in economy was bad enough, but _standing up_!!

never mind, we'll be able to tell our grandchildren, 'when i was your age, airliners had seats in 'em, so you could _sit down_!' LOL, ;D

Mr Triton Projects Bartini never had the notation "Be", do not make misinformation. If you are not sure better specify the forum. Bartini has never worked in the Beriev Design Bureau. Just plane VVA-14 was based on the experimental plant because the patched CB Bartini Bartini did not have a pilot plant.

From Yakubovich book (see http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,396.msg21280.html#msg21280):

T-117 and F-57.

F-57 wasn't mentioned here before. It was small brother of the mighty A-57 - a tactical (frontline) bomber designed in the end of 1950s.
Technical data (calculated):
Wing span - 12.9 m
Length - 25.0 m
Takeoff weight - 25 tons (28 tons overloaded)
Crew - 1
Powerplant - two Klimov VK-13 turbojets, each 10 000 kG thrust
Maximum speed - 3000 km/h
Cruise speed - 2500 km/h
Service ceiling - 22 to 25 km
Flight range - 2800 to 3100 km (normal weight), 3800 to 4100 km (overload)
Takeoff run - 900 m
Bomb load - 1500 kg

I attach small pictures to avoid piracy :) .

It's quite interesting to knew an Italian view on Bartinis's life!
Overseas origins of Robeto Bartini, in my humble opinion, was one of the causes of it's 'special" position among other Soviet aircraft designers - with all good and bad sides of it.

Could you share some details of the article with me as well?
Thanks in advance!
