Hi,

I make a little change in FBA-18,which I found a small Info about it here;

https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,15821.msg293435.html#msg293435

Hi,

the Onera Archive mentions the FBA.350 Ed2,and for the last symbol Ed.2,I don't know what was it ?.

Do we have the correct link? The Schreck FBA 350 doesn't show up in that edition of L'Aéronautique.

If this is from the ONERA lists, it's very odd. Why would flying boat designs from the mid-1920s be being put into wind tunnels in 1937-1938?

Sorry my dear apophebnia,

I correct the link, and the FBA.350 was a real Project submitted to
this contest,and Ed.2 means "Ecole de Début biplace",or two-seat
start trainer, and from the book Les Ailes Francaises 2 - Les hydravions
a Coque 2st partie, here is a hint for it,also we must know after the
company was purchased by Bernard in 1934,but still kept on its
individual designation system, and the program was called A49 of
1937.

Thanks hesham. This has got me wondering about that 'FBA 350' from the mid-'20s. Did such a designation actually exist or was that a caption conflation of 'F.B.A.' and '350' (as in 350 CV HIspano Suiza)?

Interesting about Ed.2 = École de Début biplace ... never seen that as a STAé category before. BTW, you listed this competition as "HE.2/3" (Hydravion École) back in 2015: https://www.secretprojects.co.uk/threads/french-aircraft-specifications-1919-1939.22273/#post-249386
(If you plan to change/add to that entry, note that 'Minie-Cassin MR.10' (sic) should read Minié-Cassin M.C 10 / M.R 20.)

BTW, going back to your Schenck FBA designation list, the FBA 19 came in a range of variants with STAé suffixes applied:

FBA 19 HB 2 - 1924 Hydravion de Bombardement biplace, x 9
- 19 HB 2 : 2-seat flying boat bomber, mainly wooden const.
- 19 HB 3: 1 x 300 hp Hispano-Suiza 8Fb V-8 tractor, span 14.40 m
-- NB: All FBA 19 HB 2s converted to FBA 19 HMB 2 amphibians

FBA 19 HMB 2 - 1924 Hydravion de Bombardement Mixte biplace
- 19 HMB 2: Conver. of FBA 19 HB2 flying boats to amphibians, x 9

FBA 19 HMT 3 - 1925 Hydravion Mixte de Transport triplace
- 19 HMT 3: 3-seat 'liaison' amphibian for Air-Union,* x 1
- 19 HMT 3: 1 x 300 hp Hispano-Suiza 8Fb,** span 14.40 m
-- * Commissioned Apr. 1924 as fast Paris-London postal a/c
-- * Actually flown in 1925 as 1+3 France-UK passenger a/c
-- ** Later replaced by 350 hp Hispano-Suiza V-12, F-AHCY

Likewise, the FBA 21 came in a range of variants - the FBA 21 HE 2 (Hydravion École de biplace and FBA 21 HMT 5 (Hydravion Mixte de Transport de cinq place.

The information comes from the old French magazine "Aviation Magazine": the FBA 30 (0) was the predecessor concept from which the FBA 310 originated .

From Aviation magazine 1968,

and many thanks to dear Maveric,I will re-set the list.

From a dear friend,

I got the book,Le grand essor de l'Hydraviation 1913-1934 about
FBA aircraft,very disappoint book,they denied the Type-12,but I know
it was mentioned in reliable source, and Type-14 appeared in TU &
A-Z magazines,also Type-18 was hinted by an Italian magazine,also
nothing about Type-300,Type-330 or Type-350.

The only distinguish is that,it knows us Type-D,Type-E and also a
small Info about Type-25.

So I will re-set the list,please see.

Hi,

to know how they reached to Type number 10,we can imagine
or guess the sequence was as following;

FBA-A = Type-1
FBA-B = Type-2
FBA-C = Type-3
FBA Cannon Fighter = Type-4
FBA-E = Type-5
FBA-H = Type-6 (Early FBA-D)
FBA-S = Type-7 & Improved S
FBA Triplane = Type-8
FBA High Seas = Type-9
