Anyone with info on this Russian aircraft?. Maybe intended as ag-plane. Engine in the long nose coule be a TVD-10 and designer could be a Mr. Ivanov. Maybe designated I-721.

This is I-701 by R A Izmailov, built in Arseniev Aviation Plant.
There were serie of "I" projects - I-701, I-702, I-703, I-704 and I-705.
Long time some aviation magazines indicated it as Antonov plane, but it s Izmailov.

Thanks a lot for all these unkown-to-us planes, ucon. I really appreciate the sharing. Never heard of Izmailov before.

Were the 1 to 5 actually produced, ie more than 1-2 prototypes?
The project I-711 has a strong configuration similarity with Poland's PZL-Mielec M-15 Belfegor ag-plane. Is there a known reason or connection?

Riamir Izmaiov

I suppose that it is the person who works for this 2 planes

Thank you so much for all the info and the beautiful photos. Very interesting stuff and to see the connection between Izmailov, the M_15 Belphegor and the I-711.
Would you know whether the I-701 was built as a full-scale mock-up or was it a " real" airplane?

Short story.
Reamir Izmailov was working in Antonov DB as chief designer of gliders (A-11, A-13, A-15) motor gliders (An-11M and An-13M) in Arseniev Aviation plant.
He was also leading designer of AN-14 and all its agrycultural variants and modifications. Then he started to make some projects of AG aircraft to improve
AG characteristics - there were 16 different projects (see tables). I-711 made in Arseniev. In 1971 group of soviet spesialists was sent to Poland to create
M-15 Belphegor. BTW, M-15 had itself some unusual variants, include seagull wing etc.
After Poland Izmailow worked in MDB and was a Buran crew cabin designer.
