Yes that's supersmart. Never seen anything as simple as that elsewhere before. And still surprized no one else came with the same idea.

Not new or the simplest. See "Vertical Wire Sky Screen". It was used at the Cape for decades since the 50's. Been replaced by cameras with trajectory overlays.
