Around 1970 John West proposed Disk shaped Airship
next this 30 ft. prototype Sky Ship No1 would come intermedium 200 ft. model and finally a 700 ft. diameter version

What happened to these for cargo transfer and tourism?
 
I just wondered if it was tech or financial reasons. There have been numerous statements of intent and roll outs but it never quite happens.
