It is a very good book. It covers an important subject that deserves better. I've always thought it was a shame that it didn't get the same treatment as the Secret Projects series. Probably because the civvie boys prefer the numbers and production lists that projects lack. (I'll exclude Caravellarella and Jelle from that generalisation)

Published in 2004CE, not 2004BCE.

Definitely not old.

It may have been published in 2004 but it remains the only book of its type on British civil projects.
An expanded and updated version would be most welcome addition, but I guess that's unlikely.

I like how it followed the layout of Tony's BSP series that came out around the same time with the manufacturer appendix at the back, while still fitting in with Tempus' paperback format. In their own way Tempus (now History Press) have done a lot for secret projects and esoteric aviation titles over the years, like John Forbat's Vickers books and submarine carriers etc.

A very useful book. It could indeed do with the Secret Projects treatment but I guess that would depend on the amount of new material that has come to light since it was published and a realistic asessment of the likely market, which will no doubt be small compared to that for jets which carry things that go BANG.

Excellent book. I have it. A pitty we can enjoy more books on unbuilt civil projects. There are tons of civil projects to enjoy!

The RAeS Journal of Aeronautical History is an excellent resource that is neither well known nor easy to find. It deserves to have a higher profile.
