1. Toroidal orbital space station and lunar manned spacecraft from the Soviet classic film Road to the Stars - 1957.

Illustrations of a large size. Increase them - and see the signatures and details.

Interesting moment. Americans asked me in 2011: the project of the toroidal Soviet station in 1959 is the Tsiolkovsky orbital space station? No. The project of the toroidal Soviet orbital space station in 1959 was made by Soviet scouts (pioneers) for the international exhibition Expo in Brussels. Tsiolkovsky orbital space station is a conical cylinder in the style of Cylinder O Neil.

To be continued. Happy Christmas and Merry New Year! ;)

2. Orbital station in the form of a double wheel from the movie "2001: Space Odyssey" - a detailed technical cut. All these technical cuts are the Japanese artist Shigeru Komatsuzaki, 1970. The Japanese journal of science fiction. The passenger shuttle approaches the station. The nuclear interplanetary ship "Discovery" is a detailed technical section. Start the ship "Discovery" from the Moon. Lunar scientific city - a detailed technical section.

In England, in 2016, a book was published - the retrofuturist album "Japanese Popular Scientific Otaku". It contains many of these illustrations.

The Japanese with this Otaku had an unusual influence on Soviet ufologists. One Japanese gentleman painted a Mayan Indian inside a rocket. Plate of Palenque. This Otaku is an ordinary illustration from the Japanese scientific comics. I found in 2012 a Japanese picture in 1969: inside the pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx - robots and a technical laboratory. Naive Soviet ufologists did not know this. Iron tulle. And they believed in the Mayan inside the rocket. One fellow from Switzerland also believed in the Japanese image of the Maya in a rocket. He was looking for aliens in the sixties.

To be continued. Christmas New Year and Merry Happy!
