Hi,

The most complete book ever published on Chinese space shuttles has just been published. Philippe Coué, its author is French a a well known chinawatcher, with an expertise in advanced aerospace technology concepts. This author has little visibility but his writings are like crown jewels. Also: its understanding and analysis goes well beyond what is usually published by scholars.

This book is incredible. For those who are not well versed in this subject -- which I have also been tracking ;-) --, it explains why a Chinese shuttle will fly in around 2020 however incredible as it may appear. But it is not. Philippe Coué, the author, started to gather info in this field -- my understanding -- in the early or mid-1980s when key details of the 1st Chinese manned spaceflight program were disclosed to the West. If I had to pitch this book, I'd say that most of what we know and understand is scattered pieces of information. What this book does: It explains where all elements of the puzzle fit so we the reader can get a clear understanding of the timeline(s), organizations, key actors, past programs, current activities and plans. So that the big picture gets much clearer when you know who does what, what for, when, etc. Everything gets clear now. I had heard he was writing a book on that subject but I am very impressed with the result. Clean, crisp, efficient writing.
