US Army jeep in Valerian Comic book

I found this futuristic US Army jeep
in the Valerian graphic novel. It appears
at the bottom of the attached page.
I think it was drawn in the early 70s and
may be based on a real project.

yes. artist Jean-Claude Mézières used in time allot reference and real design.
like style of "2001 a Space odyssey".
Later he went on own visual style and design.

on second picture the heroes stand in front of all terrain vehicle
That based also on real design the USA were testing

I wonder if he used a US magazine for the jeep.
As an aside I have a video of a French film called
Le Toubib. The actress who plays the nurse Harmonie
looks very like the girl in the comic.

It could be, that "the Jeep" is a french prototype, depends what sources used Jean-Claude Mézières

On Véronique Jannot, yes she would have be good choice way back in 1979
far better as that Cara Delevingne in that direful 2017 adaptation from Luc Besson.
For my part i had taken Matt Smith and Lily James to play Valérian and Laureline in that Movie
