In the distributed airwing, a project for the NPS, the following report is referenced:

Levine, Nicholas, et al. 2013. Next Generation Fleet Escort Carrier (CVEX). Project
Report, Monterey: United State Naval Postgraduate School.

I'm quite interested in it, yet oddly, it never was put online, not at dtic, and not at the NPS either. Does anyone know of another source where I might find it? I find it quite odd that a report from 2013 isn't online somewher,e given how many other reports wree promptly put online.

It looks like this was a TSSE project. They seem to have stopped posting those around 2006.

Yeah right around the same time the warship design programs stopped posting student projects. it's a shame.

Can you provide a link or upload a copy? Sounds like interesting reading but I can't find it.

Me as well, I'd really like to read it-- but how did you find it? did I have a complete google fail?

The file is too large (I hope it is the right file).

But I got it from a link to a pdf directly under the picture of the cover page.

Please follow the link from post#1

That's the paper titled "Distributed Airwings." We're looking for the study titled "Next-Generation Escort Carrier (CVEX)," which is mentioned in the Distributed Airwings paper.

This has been fun to watch, waiting to see how long it would take everyone to understand the miscommunication...

sorry :-[

I made the same mistake too.

I assumed the CVEX only existed as a notional requirement as part of the distributed air-wing studies.

It is a simple mistake of the kind we all make from time to time. The distributed air wing paper was interesting of itself so thanks for that.

I'll see if I can find a way to get the paper-- it's both interesting and honestly , seems like a better idea for a "small carrier" using a technology that effectively scales down rather than try to make a baby carrier that is both less effective than a CVN and honestly, not as cost effective (I don't think they've ever been able to even get to 50% of the cost of a full CVN with anything like 50% of hte capability, when you count crew, construction and air group).

Hey RyanC--did you have any luck with the paper?
