Stupendous! Can't wait to see more from you - have you done the XB-70? -SP

That is some truly professional artwork. Thank you for sharing.

Nice work. Did you ever make profile art for the the pre-production F-111B with the longer nose? I don't think any of those had the raised cockpit of the proposed production variant. I look forward to seeing more of your art.

Very well done!

Hello,
Thanks for all your remarks.
@Steve Pace: Nope, I haven't done the XB-70, I never got the opportunity to draw it for an article or a book. However, if you would need such an illustration for a publication, I would be ready to do it, please let me know.
@Sundog: No, the pre-production profile with longer nose had not been requested by the writter of the article I worked on. I could have been a good idea, though!

Alain

Hello,
And now, let's head to another drawing.
My illustration of the week is.... the MDD YC-15 and Boeing YC-14!
I did those drawings a long time ago for an article in the French magazine Le Fana de l'Aviation, related to the AMST program. I had to draw also some section comparison and some profiles about the engines, and the way they worked.
I chose to illustrate the camouflage version of the YC-14, I find it quite sexy, I preferred it, rather than the aluminum version.
I chose the white and gray version for the YC-15, as I could not redo a camouflage version, it would have been too similar to the YC-14 illustration.
Enjoy and feel free to add your comments!
Regards
Alain

Hello,
Yes, this is me! I did some published work for Le Fana, and I wanted to do also some whatif profiles but they were not included in the article (that was too fanatic!). I did a US Marine profile, inspired by some AH-1 Cobra, a US Coast Guard (2 variants: 1 in red similar as the Dolphin, 1 in white), and also 1 profile for the US Army, inspired by the AH-64 (I tried to imagine a whatif-the-Apache-would-have-existed). I thought the S-67 would have had a great potential. In fact, I got inspired by an old advertisement on a Defense magazine, depicting the different variants of the potential AH-56, with a SAR version, a transport version, etc...
Enjoy!
Alain

Hello,
This week, as I have just shared some whatif profiles about the Blackhawk, I take the opportunity to share the work I did on the S-67 officially for "Le Fana".
The writer of the article wanted me to draw the black version and the camouflage version, as well as a 3 view drawing. For the black version, I decided to add some "exotism", drawing the fenestron variant. I used some detailed photographs I obtained from "Le Fana" to depict as much as possible the details of the aircraft. I also reproduced the official Blackhawk logo from a picture in a sort of pamphlet edited by the manufacturer. These pictures are quite old, I would have done the volumes and rendering differently today.
Enjoy!
Alain

Hey, alanqua!! I've loved your graphic style for quite a while now. You're simply one of my top favorite aircraft profilers ever.

I never forgot you allowed me to use one of your drawings for my website: http://stargazer2006.online.fr/derivatives/pages/eaglet.htm

You also did the great images of the Boeing Microfighter, which I remember sharing in another thread.

It will always be a pleasure and a privilege to see your work in these pages!

Thanks! It's very kind of you. I used Adobe Illustrator, this software makes the illustrations look more like "comics", compared to Photoshop, which has more capabilities in terms of filters, textures and effects. I remember your webtsite, it was a pleasure to help you. I'm thinking about "revamping" my plan on the T-46, I love this airplane! I will maybe add a profile on the AT-46 in orginal markings and why not some other whatif proposal with a business jet version of the Eaglet.

Hello folks,

This week, I propose to share my work published on the Bell YAH-63, the contender who lost againts the Apache. I did some drawings for an article published in Le Fana de l'Aviation. The article contained: a 3 view plan in classical green markings, a camouflage version profile, I added a whatif profile for an hypothetical operational version (which I named "Crow"), I also draw some other contenders (Boeing Vertol, Sikorsky, Lockheed). I used detailed photographs to add the best details I could of this fantastic helicopter. But it was not as easy to draw the other contenders projects, as I had very few material and images to help me. I tried to do my best, but these illustrations were less detailed.

Enjoy!
Alain

Hello again,
Here are some profiles i did a long time ago on the f7u. The reconnaissance version has never been published, I drew it but the magazine editor simply did not include it in the issue.
Enjoy

Hello,
Other artworks on the LTV Crusader III. I published the first 2 in Le Fana de l'Aviation a few years ago.
I add also some whatifs I imagined for this fantastic plane (sorry the texts are in French but I can translate them if you want).
I imagined the NASA prototype as a test for surface treatments and supersonic flows measurement (check the lower portion of the aft fuselage, it's in a different color with some holes in it).
Enjoy!
Regards
Alain
