Astounding work! Thanks for sharing.

I'm completely in awe, majestic work!

Happy you like it. I spend quite some time browsing this forum, not contributing, but it's been a source of inspiration. Only normal I post these images here.
So, modeling and rigging are almost done now, still some details to do, like rigging the rudder, modeling antennas and small stuff... Then texturing, so it will take some time before it's finished.
here again this beautiful monster and a screencast showing how this mess of flaps and landing gears doors works… Took me a while to understand. It's almost a Transformer.

Any chance of the model being able to be 3D printed?
No sorry. To many pieces and opened meshes, would need a specific model for that, maybe using this one as a base, but it would very different anyway.

Absolutely brilliant work!

Thank you!

Gael Elegoet ? that name sounds familiar to me... (I'm French) didn't you worked for Le Fana de l'Aviation in the late 90's / early 2000 ?
Superb work, really.

Yes indeed, did some works for them .
Thanks.

How many hours would you estimate you have into this model so far?

Hard to say...
I started it mid august, during the holidays, working every days on it , but it was variable, one i would work 2 hours, and the other the all day long... Then stopped 4-5 days to visit family. Now I'm back to the office, so i'm slower on it. Modeling finished when i posted the last images here. Now i'm unwarpping the mesh, long and boring.

That is looking great! I remember my brother had the model kit of that back in the '60s (Aurora or Revell?) where it came with two models, one in cruise condition and one in landing configuration. Talk about a flying Rube Goldberg machine.

Thanks ,
It must be the Revell kit then, Just found one on ebay last week :)

Was surprised by the size of the box. It's a pretty crude kit though, and a -100… Monogram did a -200 at smaller scale, but hard to find and expensive !!
The more I think about it, indeed would be nice to have a good -200 model.
Finished unwrapping the mesh, now baking some ambient occlusion maps, then will start "painting" the thing. Here the first map at small scale :

Hi,
I'm in the process of doing the textures, trying to figure out where to place some service doors, airscoop, stuff like that.
Could someone know what is a "H.F. RCVR/XMRT" and a "ADS" ? I think "ECS" should be for Environmental Conditioning System. Would any of these need some kind of airscoop ?

And here a screen to keep you waiting :p

 B) :D
This silver bird is so awesome from the front, that it doesn't need livery colours (like USAF - Air force One, Lufthansa, American Airlines etc.).

Thanks :) Happy you like it.So, I had some bad luck with that model... Wanted to do some high res textures to be able to make closeup renders. then in the middle of working on the second one (aft fuselage, underside and wings) my computer video card failed :/ learned it's a known problem on this machine type Vid card (late 2011 MacBook Pro) , so it will go back to Apple next week and dunno when I'll get it back. For time being working on a older spare machine, and it's of course longer to work on the textures or make renders.Anyway , worked on the aft diffuse map today. No bump and specular maps on the aft part for now…Here the status of the "prototype" on the "tarmac" :

B2707-200 was a dreadful design indeed. L-2000 killer. ;D
It isn't formed with this. Obviously over weight. Fatal for the aircraft.
Anyway outstanding work.

Those look great! I definitely need a wall paper size version of that second image. :)

Thank you!

BTW, what software are using? 3DS Max? Rhino3D?
