CiTrus90's 3D Drawings of Unbuilt Aircraft
« on: March 02, 2015, 03:14:40 am »
Hello everyone!

I joined just recently here, but i've always found this site awsome due to my fascination with aircrafts, and in particular, with the lesser-known and obscure ones.

In my free time i enjoy 3d modelling (self taught, so i apologize for my poor skills...) and thought i could share some of my works here to pay tribute to some of those beautiful aircrafts that never took to the sky, and at the same time, give a tridimensional feel for the ones that have been relegated to 3 view drawings only until now.

I hope you can bear with my mediocre attempts. Enjoy if possible.

Regards.

Welcome on board CiTrus90 !
Your drawings look great, they give the feeling of a manufacturers model.
Can you tell us, which software you are using ?
It takes a long time, before all mistakes are made ...

Thank you for the kind words :)

I'm using Autodesk 3ds Max 2015 for the 3d, while for the texture on the model i use Gimp 2.8.

By the way, if you know of other aircrafts of which we only have 3 views and may benefit of a 3d render, i'm open for suggestions.

Great work, congratulations!

Could it be possible to produce 3D aircraft models with Blender 3D?

Yes, it is. But i personally find 3DS Max way easier to use. If you're worried about the price, on their site you can download a free version for up to 3 years as a student and for private use only.

EADS Mako with Talon inspired livery. Or rather, what-if Boeing and SAAB resurrected it for the T-X, future USAF trainer competition?

Yes, you can find many tutorials both for 3DS Max and Blender, even on youtube for example.

Next one, a try at the Boeing MRF-24X (http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,528.0.html).

Just to compensate the lack of a picture of the real mock-up of the Bf-165.
