My THK list. Mostly the same info ... but at least it is Google friendly ;)

Türk Hava Kurumu Uçak Fabrikası - Turkish Air Agency Aircraft Factory

Numbered THK Uçak Fabrikası aircraft designations were applied only to original designs. So, for example, the licensed THK-Miles 14 Magister bears no relationship to the THK-14 (a 2-seat training glider).

Designations may be rendered as T.H.K.1 or THK.1 but the most common style seen in modern Turkish publications is THK-1 (so I have stuck to that hyphenated form throughout).

Since THK designs were taken over by MKE, I've added 'MKEK' designations at the bottom for convenience.

Vecihi Hürkus Aircraft Designations

Rather than add another designation subject heading, I thought put the aircraft of minor Turkish designer, Vecihi Hürkus, here. At first better known as a pilot, Vecihi seems to have begun by designing aircraft from salvage parts. Can anyone add to this list?

Designs are designated with Roman numerals ... sometimes shown with prefixes -- 'K' and 'SK' -- and prefixes 'STM' and 'D'. The 'D', for Deniz/Sea, was applied to floatplanes. Perhaps a Turkish memeber could suggest what the other letters refer to?

Vecihi VI -- 1924 2-seat recce biplane (from salvaged parts)
-- aka Vecihi K-VI, first flight Izmir, 28 Jan 1925
-- http://www.tayyareci.com/bagisucak/vecihikVI.asp
-- http://cdn.listelist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/19-vecihi-k6-ucagi.jpg

Vecihi X --- 1933 2-seat touring aircraft*
-- aka Vecihi SK-X, registration TC-S.V
-- "a modernized version of the Vecihi XIV"
-- * Note,Vecihi X also desig. of 1930 speedboat

Vecihi XI - a/c model displayed at 1930 Ankara trade fair
-- aka Vecihi Y-XI, registration TC-S.VI

Vecihi XIV - Sept 1930, 2-seat single-engined trainer/sport a/c
-- aka Vecihi K-XIV, x 1, reg: TC-S.I, TC-S.II (modified)
- Vecihi XIVD: Vecihi XIV seaplane, x 1 conversion
-- http://cdn.listelist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/38-vecihi-k14.jpg

Vecihi XV -- 1933, 3-seat multi-purpose aircraft x 2
- Vecihi XV: Braced low-wing monoplane, radial engine
-- aka Vecihi XV STM, registration TC-S.III
-- http://www.tayyareci.com/bagisucak/vecihiXV.asp

Vecihi XVI - 1934 4-seat low-wing cabin monoplane, x 1
-- aka Vecihi K-XVI 'Nuri Bey' (after Nuri Demirag)
-- Vecihi K-XVI registration TC-S.IV
-- http://www.tayyareci.com/bagisucak/vecihiXVI.asp
-- http://cdn.listelist.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/44-vecihi-k-16-nuri-bey.jpg
- Vecihi XVID: Vecihi XVI seaplane, aka 'S-XVI', x 1

Vecihi XVII - 1938 high-wing monoplane passenger a/c
-- aka Vecihi K-XVII, registration TC-S.VI, x 1

Hi,
The aircraft pictured in the link about the model XV is actually the Vecihi XVI D (model XVI mounted on floats).
The actual Vecihi XV was a different low-wing three-seat monoplane registered TC-S.III, see http://www.tayyareci.com/bagisucak/vecihiXV.asp

According to the book Turkish Aircraft Production by Tuncay Deniz, one example each was made of the XV and XVI. The XVI D was the same example mounted on floats.

In the same source, it is said that the XIV D is one of the two XIV built, mounted on floats, and the aircraft registered TC-S.V is described as "a modernized version of the Vecihi XIV".

By the way, maybe one should change the heading to "Turkish aircraft designations" ?

Adrien

Great find, thanks!
These links reveal that there was a book (in Turkish) about the THK-13, titled Uçan Kanat THK-13, by Mustafa Kılıç.
