Hi there,

It seems we did not have any MRKS-related thread yet. Now we do.

Had a look through the links, and a google.

Is this a current project?
If so, what is the timeframe?

Found this by chance and wonder too.

Hi there,

Thx to Flateric, who recently posted a link to the november 2013 issue of Takeoff magazine with an article on a Russian QSP/SSBJ project/development (MAKS2013)...

unlikely, not talking about money even - as preferred concept now is one with top inlets above the tail fuselage
I did a small article on SSBJ for Dubai Airshow issue of Take-Off (if you are interested)
http://en.take-off.ru/pdf_to/to28.pdf

... it happens this issue features another article partly dealing with MRKS.

Enjoy, as always.

This is for the sake of information completedness.

(1) A link to one of the first press articles (in Russian) about MRKS-1 from Khrunishev's website dated 17-11-2010
(I won't include the google translate.)

http://www.khrunichev.ru/main.php?id=2&nid=1879

(2) In Russian, the original glyphs matching the latin translation are: МРКС-1

(3) An interesting website I didn't know about:
http://novosti-kosmonavtiki.ru

... also occasionally transcribed as MRKN, as illustrated by this "recent" English translation of a Chinese press article dealing with this ongoing russian RLV effort [info dated april-may 2014. TsaGi wing tunnel tests. See attached pix]. It's pretty currious this forum is not too talkative about MRKS while we do have much more stff on Darpa's XS-1 and quite a few things on China's own parallel, though far less visible, efforts.

Any (body) any (one) ?

Reminds me of Lockheed's Revolver demonstrator from a few years ago.

Thx Moonbat. Yes indeed, it takes after that. Isn't all this ending up -- in the US at least -- into Darpa's XS-1 project? Image of Revolver (scaled model) attached herein for reference.

I really thought that would have come before Falcon.

I'm actually glad it didn't..
It might have precluded boost-back.
