The Galileo Shuttlecraft from Star Trek has unusual history.
Original was a planed streamlined craft to bring the crew to there adventures,
That was canceled for budget reason and the cheaper Transporter introduce.
but modelmaker ATM offered to build full-sized Shuttlecraft for free in exchange the rights for ST model kits
The design from Gene Winfield, the Mockup was build by 12 people over two months in 1966.
the Shuttlecraft was store in open, for over 43 years.
Even consider lost forever, It remains were found in Ohio and was sold for $70150 in summer 2012.
but the buyer start a renovation in Atlantic Highlands, what took a year
now in 2013 is back from the death and get new home in Johnson Space Center.
