STILETTO ISR – The Next Generation Stiletto

M Ship Co. is in the process of developing the next generation Stiletto – STILETTO ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance) – which will focus on future warfare with extensive use of unmanned systems. It will offer easy launch, support and retrieval of unmanned vehicles.

The STILETTO ISR will expand operational range and defensive base, multiply ISR projection as USV mothership, and provide persistent and longer range visual inspection.

The STILETTO ISR will be equipped with the latest technology to enhance warfighters’ safety, and to achieve higher speed, smaller footprint, and larger range with more eyes in order to quickly respond for sea-lane security. It is designed to fit inside an amphibious assault ship (L-SHIP) for easy transportation anywhere in the world.

Significant Advantages Over Conventional Displacement or Planing Craft

“Wide & Shallow” M-hull® platforms offer significant advantages over “Long & Skinny” conventional displacement or planing crafts based on the U.S. military’s new littoral missions.

The revolutionary M-hull® technology provides open interior for modular multi mission capability, shallow draft with large payload and deck spaces, not to mention high speeds with smooth ride quality.

M Ship Co. has designed a family of such vessels to qualify for the full range of missions contemplated for operations in the littoral and coastal zone. They may be purchased by government and military agencies under a no-bid, sole-source acquisition contract.

The Stiletto MOC – Maritime Operations Center – provides a central intermediate maritime deployment platform that fits operationally into the existing framework in the MCM, SOF, ISR and ASW arenas, yet transforms mission sets by increasing operational capabilities and speed-to-maneuver.

By acting as a mother-ship for manned and unmanned systems, the Stiletto MOC can deliver the critical systems and sensors down-range simultaneously, thus significantly reducing human risk and time on target.

The Stiletto MOC will be able to independently support manned and unmanned operations for sustained periods with robust force protection, fast ingress and egress speeds, and low probability of detection.

The Stiletto MOC is based on the DOD’s Stiletto prototype which has proven capabilities to control unmanned systems in the DOD exercises.

SEAHAWK

The SeaHawk is a larger version of the fully proven Stiletto design capable of efficient transoceanic deployments and long-duration presence anywhere in the world. The SeaHawk uses MSHIPCO’s M-hull® Technology to provide sprint speeds to 65 knots, radar stealth and a very shallow draft of less than 5 feet. It will also launch and retrieve up to four satellite vessels rapidly while operating at a speed of 20 knots in high sea state.

The U.S. Navy faces a changing security environment of smaller, more dispersed and irregular threats in the littoral with potentially catastrophic impacts. This threat environment calls for a fleet architecture using advanced technology to create smaller, more capable ships. For this, MSHIPCO has designed the SeaHawk, a Tri M-hull® with a length of 160 feet and 100 foot beam. It has the deck area and range of Littoral Combat Ship, and could respond quickly to littoral threats anywhere in the world.

Re: M Ship M80 Stiletto

Uploaded on Jun 15, 2007

The "Stiletto," a shallow-water craft made of a tough, lightweight carbon composite material, offers a safer, more comfortable ride and is easily reconfigured to accommodate technological advances and the military's needs, said Navy Cmdr. Greg E. Glaros, a transformation strategist in the Office of Force Transformation.

Stiletto was initiated in the DoD transformation office in association with U.S. Special Operations Command, he said. When fielded, the boat will be available for use my all services. It's meant to get special operations forces to their missions quickly with a top speed of more than 50 knots, Glaros said. Those forces, a total of 15 per boat, also could benefit from its unusual hull design.

Described as an "M-hull" because of its resemblance to the letter "M," the water Stiletto displaces is pulled through tunnels under the boat. The water mixes with incoming air from the forward movement of the craft and creates an air cushion that the boat rides on, he said.

Oy! I thought I was posting in the right place for the M80. :-[

You principally was ! I just always recommend using the search function before, which would have
shown the thread you by yourself started with nearly the same title ! ;)
Otherwise, for those just looking on the newest thread, worthwhile information may be lost.

The Navy's stealthy carbon-fiber M80 Stiletto serves as a principal demonstration craft to test high-tech gear and new concepts in coastal and riverine warfare.

The craft, based at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek, Virginia, attracted attention and made local news as it made its way up the coast to appear at the annual Sea-Air-Space 2018 exposition this week.
