fact too large thread :
3-view and internal arrangement of the Air Couzinet 20B4 bomber project :
(from Le Trait d'Union 3/4 93 via lark )

A lot about René Couzinet and some of his projects
can be found on
http://www.hydroretro.net/etudegh/index.php

scroll down and choose:Quand les Arc-en-Ciel traversaient l' Atlantique.

Dear Boys and Girls, if you like Couzinet and if any of you are interested we/F-RSIN have just released a 1/144 resin & metal kit of the Air Couzinet 10 Arc-en-Ciel transatlantic record breaker & mailplane from the 1930s.

You know, BIG wheel spats and a fish-tailed banana fuselage......

"You know, BIG wheel spats and a fish-tailed banana fuselage....."

And exactly this typical "Couzinet style" even found its way into
Donal Duck comics .. ;D

Jemiba, thank you for interesting sketches.

Haven't you any data of 20B4?
And when this project was made?

A prototype was ordered in 1939 and a mock-up was built during this
year (see attached photos from Le Trai d'Union March/April 1993)
The prototype was to have been powered by four Hispano 12Xcrs, other
versions of the Hispano 12 and the GR 14R were envisaged, too.
At a weight of 12.000 kg it should have been able to reach a speed
of 550 km/h at 5400m altitude. Length 17,3m, span 24m,
bomb load would have been 1200 kg, defensive armament 2 x 7.5mm
machine guns and a 20mm Hispano gun.

In a way the Air Couzinet 20B4 bomber project reminds me of a Messerschmitt Bf-110 on steroids with four engines!

In the Trait d'Union #186 (Jul-Aug 1999) is a surprising 5-engined canard Couzinet flying boat, and the 130H flying boat amphibian.
In the Trait d'Union #184 (Mar-Apr 1999) was described the 130, I translate: "At the end of 1933, René Couzinet had imagined a multi-use derivative of the Couzinet 40: Couzinet 130, with the same 28m-span wing of the 40 associated to fuselages of length 19.15m adapted to different uses and different engines. Derivatives were Couzinet 131, 132, 133, 140. There was also a 130H amphibian version. None went further than model status."
