Gentlemen,

Please find attached a model photo of a Grumman 4-engine flying boat. It reminds me of a G-132, but the engines are clearly turboprops. It is also too short to be a G-305. Any ideas?

Please note the model was probably re-finished with incorrect, pre-1947 insignias.

Many thanks,

John

So Hesham, you believe this is a 4-engine turboprop Albatross variant?

To me, the model looks a lot closer to a G-132, except with turboprops and without the hydrofoil. It is also too short to be a G-305. See attached photo of a factory Grumman G-132 display model for reference.

Good Day All!

A recent find was this photo of a model of the Grumman Model 305 which bears many of the design features of the previous model photos. Photo from the Rene Francillon Collection.

Enjoy the Day! Mark
