In 1996 Fakel exhibited their 9M100 short range SAM and 9M96 medium range SAM in front of an Su-35. Each missile was shown next to a launch canister. The 9M100 was competing with the Vympel K-30 for the role of new generation WVR AAM, while the 9M96 was expected to compete with the R-77 AAM as a BVR AAM.

I have included the only picture I can find of the missiles being displayed as possible AAMs in front of an Su-35. There are no specs that I can find on the AAM specific variants of 9M96, so here is the data for the SAM variant;

9M96
Length: 4.78 m (4.75m)
Diameter: 0.24 m
Wing span: 0.4/0.48 m
Weight: 333 kg (330kg)
Propulsion: solid propellant boost and sustain
Guidance: inertial with command updates. Active radar terminal homing from AGAT
Warhead: 24 kg, focused HE fragmentation
Speed: 3600km/h
Range: 40 km (max), 1km (min) (other sources: 50km max)
Altitude: 25,000 m (max), 10m (min)

9M100
Length: 2.5 m
Diameter: 125 mm
Guidance: IIR?
Range: 8km (as SAM)

Here's a couple of Fakel AAM projects from the 1960s.

Fakel/Grushin had successfully produced the first Soviet AAM, the RS-1U (AA-1 ALKALI), but these projects were rejected.

V-148 was a 650kg missile with a range of 250km designed for the Tupolev Tu-148 advanced interceptor. Maximum target speed was 4000km/h, warhead weight 60kg, length 5m, diameter 0.42m, span 1.02m

V-155 was a 480kg missile with a range of 120km designed for the Mikoyan MiG-31 interceptor. It was reduced in length (to 4.3m) but was otherwise practically the same design.

Both designs used liquid propellent engines- 1 cruise engine and 4 control engines- and semi-active radar homing. They competed with Molniya/Bisnovat's K-100 and Vympel/Toropov's K-33 designs, of which the K-33 was chosen for production.
