Sometime in the 1980s, CITEFA began development on an eventual replacement for the Roland I surface to air missile which was the Argentine Army's main SAM system. The resulting Halcon (Hawk) was similar in shape to the Roland missile, but somewhat longer. According to Jane's, it had a 7-km range, weighed 90-kg and a maximum altitude of 6-km. A 12-kg warhead provided the punch. Minimum engagement altitude was 20 meters.

The missile retained an improved version of the Roland guidance system, and the original intent was to have Halcon be compatible with Roland launch equipment. According to what I've read on other Argentine forums, this might have implied new, Halcon-specific launch tubes however.

Edit: I've figured out the attachments. This is the only picture I've ever come across.
