For anyone interested in unbuilt projects, Tony Buttler should need no introduction. Author of numerous articles in "Air Enthusiast", he has spent years amassing a vast amount of information on the British aviation industry, and has distilled this down into a breathtakingly beautiful book on fighter projects. Showcasing the ingenuity of British designers, which all too often failed to make it to flying hardware, there are inevitably parts where you are left wanting more. You want to know more about a particular design, and there a a few projects omitted or where additional information has come to light since the publication of this book. Nevertheless, this is one of the finest aviation books ever written.

Well illustrated, and the print quality is excellent as is expected from Midland Counties Publishing.

But seriously, it's a wonderful compilation that demonstrates the aeronautical creativity and ingenuity of the British aerospace establishment, even when its own government and air arms were hostile to them.
