A documentary on the Hunley. It covers the context of early submarines, the evolution of the Hunley, its well-earned reputation as a death trap, its final mission, its eventual rediscovery, salvage and current archaeological investigation, and the final disposition of its crews. There's quite a bit given to the human side.

The presenter, Caitlin Doughty, is a mortician, has a channel on death in general and has written books related to it. Other documentaries on her channel look at pretty diverse death-related subjects such as other maritime disasters (e.g., the Essex incident, or 'the real Moby-Dick'), forensics, and so on.

None of it's for the squeamish - it's not exploitative, just frank.
