For those of you who may not have seen my work on the What If and Beyond the Sprues forums, or on deviantART, I will be presenting here a sample of my best works – that is, the ones that have been the most popular.

I'm creating individual posts for each design to enable anyone to comment on only a specific image.

NOTE: ALL THESE AIRCRAFT ARE IMAGINARY.

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Neat stuff!

I take it the hatch on the Su is for maintenance (rather than being a dorsal weapons bay or landing bay doors...)

I like this one a lot. Do you have any other angles?

Not yet. I might end up doing a three-view of it. We'll see... Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! The hatch is supposed to contain the electronics suite and controls. Why I made the doors' outlines stealthy, I don't know... It's not supposed to drop its electronics in mid-air anyway!!! lol

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Fantastic art. And what I like about some of the "older" concepts is they employ graphic idioms in advertising of the era they were "produced" in. Great, great. I'd like to see more.

Re: Stargazer2006's works

You do some fun work.

However, I think that Bluebird would fit in nicely with one of those fancy roof-top airports in another thread here.

Re: Stargazer2006's works

My favourite is the SIPA "Vedette". I just think, the cabin windows should be enlarged
and reduced in numbers, as it probably could house only about 4 seats in a single row.
But it truely looks like one of those ideas from the late '50s/early '60s, worthy contender
to the MS.760 Paris III, maybe with a slogan like " Do you really want to share your room
with your servant ??" ...

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Cooooool artworks, I love them!!

Glad you like the « Vedette »! And, yes, you are right about the windows. I should have put fewer of them.

Thanks to you both for noticing that the aircraft look like period designs. I do my best to give the feel of the times in both aircraft design and page/ad layout.

Nitpick: the cockpit looks like it is rolled a few degree to starboard.

Good grief! I should have remembered I'm in the presence of specialists here, you're absolutely right! :-[

Yeah, that's the spirit of it. Those 1960s and 70s images showing future cities full of VTOL frenzy... ;)

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Normally for most of these pics there is a fake history bit going with the text... but given the high credibility of SECRET PROJECTS and the fact that these might turn up in Google searches, I make a point of NOT giving them here to avoid confusion in some people's minds.

However, if you want to read more (and see the higher res pics in some cases), please check out my deviantART page at:

Thank you so much, my friend! This is all far from perfect... I can see all my mistakes in there... but if the first impression is convincing, then I'm glad! ;)

I know! I have already seen a couple of my works presented on other forums or sites and I had to explain... In the same way, I fell a victim of fake aircraft on the web a couple of times. You can't really help it, the only way to avoid it is to be sufficiently knowledgeable on a subject not to be fooled, but it's a tough act to know every single project that ever existed!!!

Thanks for the comment. :)

Great works, I love how you master the style effects (blueprint, B&W, etc) in your works.

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Stargazer,

Very innovative and interesting designs.

Love the Shorts / Sikorsky S-900. My Dad was founding President of ShortsUSA, the Shorts North American operation. In the mid '70's Dad had me design a more streamlined vertical stabilizer concept that he proposed to Shorts senior management, as the boxy slab VS's on the 330 were difficult to market. Of course Shorts eventually designed the single swept VS for the 360, which was a much better design for the aircraft and for passenger appeal.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I highly value your remarks, considering the personal insight you've had on the industry and the designing side of things. I am really only an amateur who does things that seem right to him from a visual point of view... I have no engineering knowledge that would enable me to validate or invalidate the graphic choices I make, so I'm glad you were able to look at the work without the professional's critical eye!

Re: Stargazer2006's works

Yeah!!

Great skill in the service of tremendous imagination!

I have to point out, however--on that de Havilland Sea Devil, you've got the cockpit all off to one side. ;)
