I recently came across this ship design while looking through threads on Keypublishing. The ship was announced in '07, but so far I haven't seen any news on it. Anyone have an update on her?

By the way the correct designation is Project 2195.6 not 21K. The soviets/russians not yet produced that many designs!!!

It's working like this: they designing a ship, give it project number and the subsequent alterations, improvements in the class which is applied to the new ships are added via a dot and number:
For example the Admiral Gorshkov class frigate is Project 2235 (or 2235.0) while it's export version is 2235.6

or
Project 1041.0: Svetlyak class patrol boat
Project 1041.1: Svetlyak class missile boat with
SS-N-25 Missile (export version)
Project 1041.2:
Svetlyak class gunboat (export version)

See?
They are the same class but only differ in weapon loadouts.

On October 2014 it was reported that the specification had been signed off for a new anti-air destroyer (Project 21956). Twelve ships of the 10,000t Leader class are planned to enter service from 2023-25, split between the Northern and Pacific Fleets. There will be versions powered by nuclear or conventional power and they will carry the ABM-capable S-500 SAM and Kalibr (SS-N-27) cruise missile.
