Congrats to the men (and women ;D) at Sukhoi and KNAAPO !

Hope we will see some pictures when I'm back from work.

Cheers, Deino

The scheme they've chosen is ...unpainted! ;D
Looks like it has the IRST already.

Is it only me ... or is the centre frame on the canopy gone ? ???

Hi!

Thanks for pictures!
I presume, the source is here http://sukhoi.org/gallery/?gallery_id=110&cur_gallery_id=156? ;)

The Russians appearently don't much care for using aligned serrations on the edge of plates and panels to reduce X-band signature from most directions. Wonder what effect that has on its signature.

wonder if you still can't understand that this is prototype
check YF-23A PAVs underbelly

hmmm... based on the discussion in paralay

the choice of using ejector nozzles seem to reflect a sustained cruise of M>1.5 requirement but the gain from such a design is best at M>2 though it suffers from subsonic performance

Looks like T-50-2 is going to test the OLS optical systems.

Cropped photos to just the T-50-2 for ease of viewing.

Comparison to T-50-1 - a few differences in panels and probes, plus the canopy and OLS, overall the rest looks identical.

Here's a nice picture (from Paralay's board) with the "news" marked.

T-50-2 flew again today...

Nice to notice that they are so quick with additional testing ... another proof in the confidence to that design.

Besides that - since I lost a bit the current overview - is there a source/link where the current status of the flight testing is summarized (how many flights, flying hours, reached test objectives and so on) ??

Thanks in advance,
Deino

no, I think that preparing something like quarterly "JSF facts" is out of business for Sukhoi PR Dept.

:-[ Hmm ... sad, but understandable !
However is the an unofficial overview of how many flights, flying hours and so on made by some "Spotters" or "Enthusiasts" ? ???

Nice, thank you, missed that piece of news. Any idea about 26'th august? From what i remember, someone on some scanner forum said there was possibly new pilot then. Or maybe he misheard, or i miswrote...

Andrey Fomin's 'Take-Off' is No.1 source on aerospace here with long-time direct connections to Sukhoi top brass

Alright, so no new pilot of 26'th. Looking forward to next week to see a vid of T-50-2. :) (as promised by Pilot)

Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum, I manufacture R/C EDF Jets and was search for everything that I can find on the Sukhio Su-50 PAK and came across this forum. While reading it, some had made mention that there are reasonably accurate three view drawings out there. So far I have only found a couple of three views and they are small in size. Is there a source that you are aware of where I can obtain/purchase drawing, in particular where there are cross sections showing the profile. I saw some nice drawings in this topic that has a cross section. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. You can get me at john@modelsbyjohn.com

I hope that helps :)

Looking forward to a "zoomed out" image of a 3 view with the rectangular nozzles you cooked up.

Thanks, very neat! It is like a murky image of the future... :D

Thanks guys for the response, the drawings are a huge help.

Hi mates!
I have a question:
Is there any source for that net rectangular nozzle to prove it will be mounted on new PAKFA?

well... the ejector flat nozzle is from NPO Saturn's site, but the image file per se is hidden

and if IIRC, it's been cited that the 2nd phase engine will have flat nozzles with reverse thrust(?) in some interview

hmmm....

"However, according to Eugene [Marchukova], works in the region of exhaust system are conducted. The developments of two-dimensional nozzle and reverse are located on the stage of the issue of technical documentation ... From the point of view of gas dynamics the two-dimensional nozzle has continuous deficiencies, since with its creation it is necessary to accomplish a passage from the round cross section (engine) to the flat. Thrust losses in this case can be 5-7 percent. Advantage is only one- guarantee of a thermal insignificance due to the shutting of turbine by flat blades. This regime adapts [ogranichenno]: it is included for 5-10 minutes for overcoming the air defense system of enemy. Such losses are permitted for the solution of this problem. But the designers OF [NPO] “Saturn” attempt to minimize losses to 2-3 percent."

T-50-2 did 4 flights in total from 3'rd to 5'th of march. So, two flights on 5'th?

Delhi. March 12. Interfax. - The supersonic missile BrahMos will be the most powerful weapon of the Indo-Russian fifth generation production fighter in the Indian Air Force.

"Right now, the specialists of both countries are tasked: to ensure that the missile has a range of 290 kilometers, weighing no more than two tonnes," he said.
