Good find. Only an explanatory note. Boeing used the Model 767 designation to cover an enormous variety of civilain and transport projects and studies, both internal and contracted. Range went from transonic airliners (Paul, you know what I mean) to very large cargoes (spanloaders, H2, even nuclear) to rather conventional transports. Later, the 767 was used as a commercial designation, as we all know.

I like that "low-cost" version. It looks like a Shorts Skyvan jumped the garden gate and knocked up the YC-14.

Hi,

also Boeing 767-762 of 1987.

Re: Boeing 767 projects......

Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French about plans for Boeing 767 "projects" using a common wing and fuselage diameter; which are all conceptual only and bear no real relationship to the actual aircraft produced as the Boeing 767......

The article comes from the 1st April 1969 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

Topic split. The "Hunchback of Mukilteo" (767-X) is now in a separate topic:

Topic split again. The Series -600 and -700 and "Coke-bottle" projects are now in a separate topic:

Model of Boeing 767 T-tail.

1/100th Boeing Model Shop 767-100X White Tail c. 1978.

A proposal model of the 767-100X in a twin engined T-tail configuration. The blank itself probably came from Space models in the UK, but was finished in white tail form at the Boeing shop. The model was acquired from a Boeing ex-employee who worked on the 767 program. There is also a 757-100X in the same T-tail configuration in the same scale.

Hi,

A strange thing about Boeing Model 767,it was intended to compete Douglas
DC-8,of course that was about designation of early 1950s,and it was developed
from Model 707,of course in late 1970s it was re-allocated to anther design,
as we know up today.

Air Pictorial magazine 1955.

As I know, this Boeing Model 767,intended to be power by four J57 engines, and
smaller and lighter than Douglas DC-8.

which discovered by my dear Cy-27,here is the Boeing 767-790 and anther drawing
in the article maybe related to also Boeing 767.

Greetings All -

A recent donation to the Museum included a number of aircraft proposals to United Air Lines. The donor was researching in the UAL Library when the materials was about to be hauled off to the dumpster and thankfully, he was able to save the documents. In this mix was a single brochure on the Boeing Model 767-4A/-8A with the T-tail and a 4 engine layout.

Enjoy the Day! Mark
