Interesting, thanks Hesham.

From the text, this model just seems to be testing the pivoting forebody as a possible way around the shortcomings of the X-13 Vertijet. The tailed-delta appears to have won out over the 'least mod' version of the F-16.

The 3-view (Fig.3) on page 19 shows more details of the airframe, reaction controls, etc. Attached is a more compact, reorganized version of that Figure.

BTW, for anyone interested in the LTV XC-142A, there's a drawing of the 'free flight' wind tunnel testing of that V/STOL aircraft on page 25.

Right Apophenia , it seems that this model haves nothing
to do with the F-16...

There was also F-18like model as well. I am sure that I posted the photo somewhere on the forum, but cant find currently where.

Looks like a GD take on the Grumman "Nutcracker" concept.

RTFNTR

The model used in the investigation was a modified version of an existing research model generally representative of current fighter configurations.

They just took spare model to make the tests.

Well, Matej is right, but I couldn't find it, too.
Here it's again, from Aviation Week 1975, the F-16 was used
as basis, as well as the F-17.

Thanks Jens. Interesting to see the different pivot points chosen for the two models.

The same F-16 photos were reproduced in the NASA pdf but your AW&ST versions are of much better quality.

Would they be designed as an ejection module rather than seat ??

Sorry, can't remember which production aircraft had this facility-- Well, except for the Valkyrie, with its pods.....
