Niagara Aerospace Museum (Bell) - bad news

I was giving some serious thought to taking a trip back to the Niagara Aerospace Museum, which has the remains of the Bell Aircraft archive. Then I read this on their website:

Attention
Museum was closed to the Public on January 8, 2008. All displays and artifacts have been moved to storage. Offices and Library have been established at Wheatfield Business Park located at 2221 Niagara Falls Blvd. Ste 7, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.

This development is, in retrospect, not entirely unexpected. When I visited there a year ago, they were, in essense, under assault by the owners of the building they were in. They had a lease that went out for, IIRC, 20 years, but the Indian tribe that owned that building wanted to have the whole building for their casino business.

I guess the tribe won.

At least they bothered to move all the exhibits and artifacts, unlike that one British museum in which all the aircraft are basically just left to rot in place and become nothing more but a curiosity to "urban explorers"
