Any AFV if employed incorrectly will always be vulnerable to infantry in built up areas. Be it an M1 Abrams or a T-90 or a Challenger. It must have supporting infantry to help protect it's flanks and rear. That is the first lesson taught in armoured operations.

Can Kornet or TOW (both were mentioned in the story above) be fired from enclosure?

Kornet and TOW both have considerable backblast. But that doesn't mean they can't fire from concealment. You just have to pick your spots.

Kornet killed M-1s in Iraq in 2003 and Merkavas in Lebanon too. It's no wonder weapon but it can be very effective in the right situations.

rather old news . Official papers , reportedly captured by ISIL , offers the idea that up to 11 vehicles were damaged . Of the reportedly captured two Leopards one has been supposedly destroyed in an air attack . And of course , no infantry around because deploying them might have indicated a willingness to have troops killed in political gains . After the losses of such , infantry has gone in and ISIL seems to avoid contact at the moment .
