What configuration, R14 or R18 was this engine? Anyone know the capacity? Supposedly 1550hp at altitude(?).

I can`t remember and I`m away from my sources. If no one answers `till friday I`ll let you know.

I'm pretty sure it is a 14 cylinder engine - the baseline 18 cylinder engine (BMW 802) didn't get beyond prototypes though there was a planned version with a turbocharger (P.8011).

The same illustration in a post at https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/299516-a-new-heart-for-the-shrike-the-search-for-new-fw-190-engines/ is accompanied by text suggesting that the P.8028 was a BMW 801 development intended to produce 1550 HP at altitude (this seems consistent with a BMW 801 derivative) and stating that it was abandoned after failing to demonstrate a worthwhile performance increase.

There are many German engine projects that don't seem to have been well documented in the literature.

FWIW, the Focke Wulf Projektnummer for fitting the Fw 190 V19 with a BMW P.8028 is listed as: 10 10 05-201. 10 10 05-202 was for the BMW 801J and 10 10 05-203 for the DB 609.

(Drawing numbers ... thanks for the correction newsdeskdan)
