Hi,

here is a strange two VTOL airplane Projects, designed by Pistolesi and the second by
Effetto (the later name could be wrong).

Hesham: As you suspected, 'Effetto' is not a name. "L'Effetto Giroscopico" just means 'The Gyroscopic Effect'.

The drawing is of a generic convertiplane concept. The caption reads something like:

"An example of an airplane-helicopter with distinct side and tractor propellers. Once transition speed is reached, the supporting propellers take over from the tractors. In forward flight, the side propellers are immobilized with their blades arranged facing the airflow, so that the machine flies more or less like an ordinary aeroplane."

Not so much 'variable geometry' as we think of it today ... more like 'flapping wings' going by the word ortottero.

In the text, the 'Autoaerea II' project is attributed to a Signore "E.T." of Trento. It goes on to say that this 'orthopter' concept is unrelated to Pellarini's Aerauto. According to "E.T.", his design would carry 4-to-5 people on only 40 hp.

Here is a looks like Platt-LePage design.
